About me
Hello, I'm Rachel. I'm a BACP registered and NCPS accredited counsellor and psychotherapist, offering online and telephone sessions from Wakefield.
My lifelong passion for psychology and deep understanding of human emotions, forged through personal experience, led me to become a therapist. I have over seven years experience within the NHS, first as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) and for the last five years as a counsellor specialising in long-term health conditions, both within Talking Therapies.
I prioritise creating a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship in a calm, non-judgmental, and safe environment. This space is crucial for you to freely explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Operating from the belief that healing comes from understanding ‘what's happened to me’ rather than focusing on ‘what's wrong with me’.
Clients describe me as calm, steady and easy to talk to. I bring authenticity, gentleness and clear guidance when needed. You set the pace, and together we create a space where you can feel safe enough to explore emotions, patterns and experiences that may have felt overwhelming or confusing on your own.
